We’re “Rach”-ing the stage. Jessie Montgomery’s Banner kicks things off with a bold, thought-provoking take on a familiar anthem. Then it’s all eyes on Orchestra Iowa Concertmaster Julia Sakharova as she lights up the stage in Mendelssohn’s electrifying Violin Concerto. Lastly, Rachmaninov’s Symphony No. 3 brings big, bold, beautifully dramatic melodies to an already unforgettable musical experience.

Insights is an engaging pre-concert chat led by Maestro Hankewich and features special guest artists, too. This lively and informative session offers a behind-the-scenes look at the music, composers, musicians, and stories that shape each performance. It’s a great way to deepen your concert experience—full of fascinating insights, surprising facts, and even a few laughs. Best of all, it’s free with your concert ticket. Seating fills quickly, so be sure to arrive early!
