New Naming Rights Partner Announced for Downtown Hotel, Convention Center and Arena Complex

Alliant Energy and the City of Cedar Rapids announced a naming rights agreement for the city-owned downtown hotel, convention center and arena complex formerly known as the U.S. Cellular Center. It will now be named the Alliant Energy PowerHouse. The new 12-year agreement between the City and Alliant Energy was effective July 1, 2020.

Cedar Rapids Named Host City for 2022 U.S. Figure Skating Midwestern Adult Sectional Championships

U.S. Figure Skating has selected Cedar Rapids as the host of the Midwestern Adult Sectional Championship. It is the first time this event will be held in Iowa. ImOn Ice is hosting the competition March 4-6, 2022, in partnership with the Eastern Iowa Figure Skating Club.

U.S. Cellular Center Announces Live at the 5

VenuWorks of Cedar Rapids, announced the Live at the 5 concert series today. The weekly concert series will start Thursday, July 30th and run through September 24th at the U.S. Cellular Center and will feature local bands in the venue’s Club 5 setup.

Reopening Plans Announced for Cedar Rapids Entertainment Venues

VenuWorks of Cedar Rapids has announced plans for reopening the City of Cedar Rapids-owned venues McGrath Amphitheatre, Paramount Theatre, U.S. Cellular Center and ImOn Ice. Dubbed Return to Live, the plan utilizes entertainment industry best-practices to safely return to operations.

ImOn Ice Begins Facility Updates

The City of Cedar Rapids is extending the closure of ImOn Ice Arena through late-September as the venue begins a planned renovation project. The venue was originally closed to the public in mid-March due to the COVID-10 health crisis.

University of Iowa Men’s Ice Hockey Club Secures New Home at ImOn Ice Through 2021/2022 Season

ImOn Ice and the University of Iowa Club Hockey team announce a two-year facility agreement for the Hawkeyes to call ImOn Ice their home arena through the 2022 season. The agreement will begin for the 2020/2021 hockey season which has the Hawkeyes slated for 13 home games, including one against in-state rival Iowa State University.

ImOn Communications and City of Cedar Rapids Announce Naming Rights for the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena

ImOn Ice Unveiled at Press Conference

ImOn Communications and the City of Cedar Rapids announced a naming rights agreement for the city-owned Cedar Rapids Ice Arena, now named ImOn Ice. The agreement between the City and ImOn Communications is effective January 1, 2020 through 2024. VenuWorks Cedar Rapids will continue management of the venue, under leadership of new general manager, Erik Hudson.
