VenuWorks of Cedar Rapids invites individuals seeking a part-time job to stop by the Alliant Energy PowerHouse for walk-up interviews on April 23rd & April 27th. We are offering on-site interviews for part-time positions that include event & security staff, skate rental/monitors, ticket sellers, experienced bartenders & concession stand stockers at our venues, including the Alliant Energy PowerHouse, ImOn Ice Arena, McGrath Amphitheatre, and Paramount Theatre.

We are proud to offer a flexible schedule for our part time team members that will fit your needs through a diverse list of available positions to choose from. Our part time jobs are the best for those who want to keep active, earn extra money, and choose their own schedules.

Retirees also enjoy working our events as a way to make new friends and stay active within their community.

All positions are available at all four venues, unless otherwise noted.

*Dependent upon available shifts. We ask that part-time staff work at least two events per month to stay active.

PART-TIME AVAILABLE POSITIONS

GUEST SERVICES - EVENT STAFF/ SECURITY

Individuals must prove excellent customer services skills while working with patrons. YOU are the face of VenuWorks.

Usher, Ticket Taker, Security: Wages start at $10.00/ hour
Candidates for guest services will be trained to work multiple positions as needed to host events. Responsibilities include greeting patrons at entrance doors, scanning tickets, performing bag checks and using electronic security wands and mags to scan guests, interacting with and giving patrons directions, reading tickets & ushering patrons to seats, monitoring exit/access points, providing back stage security, monitoring and controlling crowd behavior during events. All positions can work at multiple venues. All positions require standing/walking during shifts.

ImOn Ice -Skate Rental Attendant: Wages start at $10.00/hourly. Candidates for Ice Skate Rental will greet patrons entering the ImOn Ice Arena and handle cash/credit card transactions. Hand out and replace ice skates. Clean & monitor skate rental stand area.

ImOn Ice -Ice Skating Monitor: Wages start at $11/hourly. Candidates for Ice Skate Monitor must be able to ice skate frontwards & backwards with proficiency. Responsibilities include interacting with patrons during public skate periods, assisting skaters and monitoring behavior on the ice rink.

FOOD & BEVERAGE

Skilled Bartenders with high volume experience. Wages start at $10/ hour plus tips.

Concessions Stockers: Wages start at $14/hour.
Must be able to lift 25 - 50 lbs. Duties include restocking products in concession stands and cleaning before & after events.

All positions can work at multiple venues.
All positions require standing/walking during shifts.

TICKET OFFICE

Ticket Seller: Wages start at $10.00/ hour.
Primarily works at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse and McGrath Amphitheatre*.
Duties include customer service, selling tickets, handling cash/credit cards, answering phones and directing patrons.
Must have previous computer skills.
*The McGrath Amphitheatre ticket office is located onsite (outdoors) and only open during events.

OPERATIONS

Operations/Janitorial Staff: Wages start at $14/ hour.
Duties include physical labor - setting up/tearing down seating arrangements, dismantling tables, stage risers, basket ball courts and any other office/event furniture and equipment. Responsibilities also include janitorial duties such as cleaning before, during and after all events.
Available hours for all shifts including overnights.

All positions can work at multiple venues.
All positions require standing/walking during shifts.
