The John Mulaney performance originally scheduled for the McGrath Amphitheatre has been MOVED and will now be performing at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse on Thursday, August 13 ^th at 8:00 p.m. The weather forecasted for Thursday night includes rain, lightning and damaging winds, and in the best interest of providing the best fan experience and for the safety of our guests, the show is being moved INDOORS on the same date and time.

All original tickets will be honored at the new venue. New seating will be provided indoors in a configuration as close as possible to your originally purchased seats.

This is a strict NO PHONE event - no texting, talking on your phone, taking photos or videos or being on social media of any kind. No heckling. Any violators will be subject to ejection with no refunds. This includes Meta glasses- anyone with Meta glasses will be asked to leave.

Bags/Purses MUST be clear or smaller than 8.5" x 5"

Guns, mace, pocket knives, wallet-chains, and weapons of any kind are NOT allowed.

Walk-through metal detectors and hand-held security wands will be in use. A list of prohibited items can be found here.

Ticket Policy

The Alliant Energy PowerHouse is a Ticketmaster venue. Tickets MUST be in your Ticketmaster app, digital wallet or printed from the box office. Please add tickets to your digital wallet ahead of time to avoid potential network issues. For questions, please call the box office at 319-398-5211.

Concessions

No outside food and beverage is allowed into the venue. Concessions stands will be open and accepting card payments.

John Mulaney is a four-time Emmy Award, Critics Choice award and WGA award-winning writer, comedian and actor. Most recently, Mulaney can be seen as the host, writer and executive producer of his Netflix talk show EVERYBODY'S LIVE WITH JOHN MULANEY. The show serves as the continuation of the series EVERYBODY'S IN LA. The series features monologues, guests, pre-taped sketches, musical segments and more. EVERYBODY’S IN LA, was a six-night live comedy series that explored Los Angeles during the Netflix Is A Joke Festival in 2024. In December 2024, Mulaney starred in the Broadway play “All In: Comedy About Love,” alongside a cast including Fred Armisen, Richard Kind and Renee Elise Goldsberry. Mulaney is currently on the first leg of his newest stand-up tour, JOHN MULANEY: MISTER WHATEVER, performing across North America. Mulaney can next be seen in the Amazon MGM Studios film, MADDEN, an upcoming American biographical sports drama directed by David O. Russell.
